Do not rent here!

I have rented here in the past. The female manager of the apartment complex "Chenoa" is extremely rude (except the day that you sign your lease and hand over money). If you call, you can NEVER speak with a manager, you get a leasing agent that will tell you the manager has to call you (which she never will). And if you happen to have a problem you might as well forget about it being resolved there, they will dodge your call.
If you want an apartment complex who has caring individuals working for them and you are a tenant that pays your rent on time and doesn't have wild parties or cause problems, this place is NOT for you.. if you are a partying college kid who doesn't care about the property and doesn't plan on paying your rent on time then this is probably the place for you because the manager doesn't care about that property... but of course if you dont pay your rent they will take you to court.
The parking is HORRIFYING... toooo many people for one complex and they have several but they have alot of college kids as well who love to have parties so if their friends are over you will have to park VERY far from your apartment and walk and that is NOT right, they should have assigned parking which they dont!
Rent isn't that great either and they also posted the apartment on their website at the time as less than what they rented it for...
And they say they have "gated" complexes but HA the gate is allllllllllways broken... its ridiculous.
BEWARE !!!!!

Wow - that is unfortunate you feel that way. I am one of the owners and we process work orders on an hourly basis (I know because I fill them out and hand them to our Maintenance Man). I never dodge calls, and have been back in the office since the beginning of the year. Our return residents who move to another complex then come back to us speaks for itself. I would have suggested trying to talk with an owner if you had any issues and leaving a name on this website so that I could either verify or disprove the accusations. To leave such a message without a name casts serious doubt as to whether you were even a resident, maybe someone who has an axe to grind with the previous manager 'Chenoa'. The owners are on-site everyday and for anyone reading the negative remarks should come and take a look for themselves. As to the policy about taking tenants to court for failure to pay rent, my question is how you would know this unless you were one that we took to court. Maybe you would be happier in an apartment that is put in lockdown after 10 p.m. and not able to even have friends over. We do not condone parties and tell our residents that they need to respect the neighbors. FYI: Not many apartment complexes have assigned parking. We put in MORE spaces than the city require; if there is a complaint perhaps you should contact the City Of Springfield and request that they change the ordinances . The gate is not always broken, after lightening strikes there were issues which the owners were diligently resolving, I would imagine that you were not privy to the countless conversations with our vendors regarding this issue. I am leaving MY name and office number in case there are any questions: Jessica Boyce (417.866.9300).

Jessica is correct in this, if you have an issue with me, "Chenoa" You should've brought it to the attention of my owners instead of posting something anonymously on a website. The only way that any resident would know our legal proceedings would be to have to go through it. It is unfortunate that you didn't feel that I showed you enough attention. Most of the residents here know that I care about their well being and this is why, even though I resigned the position, I still have people who visit, call and check in on a daily basis. Of course we aren't going to prohibit partying and get togethers but we have many tools that we have put in place to help any neighbor who feels that the noise is excessive to use, INCLUDING my direct line of contact with the answering service. (Still in effect even after my resignation) We want our residents to be able to live thier lives and not feel like they are in a prison. No one wants to live in an apartment where you cannot have visitors or have a radio on at all OR even have a television on after 10 PM. As far as the gates are concerned, we had a few bugs in the beginning that we had to get worked out but they have been properly functioning since that point in time. I do apologize to whomever you are for the negative experience that you feel you had with us however, we as management always understand that we will never be able to please everyone and we accept that but we do try our best to please as many as possible. If you would have taken the time to come into the office to discuss some of the issues you had with myself personally or with the site, we would've done everything we could have done to fix the situation. Unfortunately, we were unable to please you because the issues weren't addressed to us. Perhaps as it happens on occasion, I didn't recieve a message about a call in that I "never would return" and for that, I am sorry. Kensington is not an unfriendly establishment, nor is it a trashy element... If it were, we wouldn't have the amazing resident retention that we have. Thank you, "Chenoa"

Hello, I was thinking if the owner and the managers should give a review sheet to every tenant when he or she leave so the owner could really know what does the tenant think and have prove.
