My wife and I were residences of strawberry fields from Jan of 2006 to November of 2007. As college students we would pay our rent 6 months in advance. We were great renters in every aspect of the word. Our last 6 months we payed an additional fee to rent on a month to month bases because we did not know how long we would be there however we still payed our rent in advance. We had not had problems with management until we found out that we would be leaving 2 months earlier than expected. We did not give them notice until the middle of the 4th month therefore we felt it fair when they told us that we would not be getting the 5th months rent back but we were assured that the 6th months rent would be refunded along with our secuity deposit but no timeline was given. Communication is an issue, at times it is difficult to get a hold of management and they do not always get there messages. We were not sure if decisions being made were actual company policy or if they were created at the moment. At times we felt like they were playing shell games with us between "management" and "upper management". We have recently been reassured that our rent will be returned along with part of our security deposit sometime by the end of the Dec. beginning of Jan. We will see.
Some additional information - Strawberry fields management also manages several other apartments in the springfield area (i.e. Park Place North) so consider this when looking at any apartment in the springfield area.
