When I first moved in Michelle N. was the manager and the service was great the residents were great. I first signed a lease in 2005 for three years my rate stayed the same because I have had so many problems. In the beginning the apartment was very clean, They had the carpets cleaned, fresh paint, no problems. just one month after moving in the carpet started to turn grey. A professional carpet cleaning company stated that the carpet was so old that the stains are resurfacing and that the padding is breaking down and coming through. I have begged that my carpet be replaced for the last 3 years. 5 managers in these past 3 years and everyone of them said they would check into it. In the past few months they have started to accept small animals, so I adopted a dog 4/08 he urinated on the carpet and now this is there new excuse after many as to why they will not replace the carpet. Even though the problem with the carpet is, what I have felt, to be a health hazard before the dog moved in. When the sun is shining through the window you can see the carpet floating in the sunrays. The reason my rent rate stayed the same for three years is because of the cockroach problem. I complained and they would say that they put me on the list for pest control, and tell me I had to take everything out of cabinets for them to spray and I would come home at end of day and pest control did not even come, why', Because I was not on the list. For two years I lived with cockroaches. I asked other people in my building and people in other buildings and they had the same cockroach problem. There are so many other problems that just add up to the most stressful home life possible. Last year a police officer was shot and the people who shot him came to hide out in one of the buildings. People stand outside apartment buildings to sell drugs. One time I came home to people making illegal transactions on the steps inside my building. Yes I complained. There are always cigar innards and baggy ends on the hallway floors. a week and a half ago some one was shot four times. I live in the front of the complex and when potential renters would stop to ask me if it was worth checking out, I told them my history and they would get back in their cars and drive out of there. This morning at 9'oclock is why I am still stressed out at 11:02a. Upon putting my child in the car a shoe came off and it does not look like a cheap shoe, well as maintenance picked up the litter this morning they did not even take consideration to turn it in to the office. I looked in the dumpster and there it was. I asked one of them if he could please help reach in the the dumpster with his reacher and grab it. I said I have nothing to use to get it out and he said he seen the shoe and I asked " you would not turn it in to the office" and the other maintenance man came struting over and started yelling in my car that they are not responsible and that I would have to go to the front office to have them make a work order to get it out for me. and how dare I accuse them of being responsible he was turning red in face. And I yelled back over him that I was not holding them responsible I was asking for help to retrieve my childs shoe. None of this is exaggerated, seriously I've tried to fit everything in to as few fonts as possible.
