This was the first apartment i rented on my own. When i went in to check out the apt before i moved in, it reeked of smoke. I asked them to shampoo the carpet, because it was obvious they didn't and they lied and said they did. So what did they do' They just put carpet fresh and vaccumed over it. After i signed the lease and moved in i realized many things that to my stupidity i overlooked like:

1) the electric outlets were cracked, halfway broken off, and the holes had tons of dust, dirt, and grime in them that i had to clean out with a toothbrush.
2) the windows were so old and ------. they had two panels, while i put one up and then reached for the other one the first one fell on my fingers and it took me 6 mons to grow my two middle fingernails back.
3) the lineloum was stained, scuffed, scratched
4) the tub was not cleaned just painted over and still stained.
5) they use hard water
6) in the hallways of the complex it's always musty and stinky and all they do is put carpet fresh instead of fixing the problem (mildew). no amount of airing out, candles, insense, febreze, carpet cleaning could get that smell out of my apartment.
7) my window was broke out of my car while it was parked right in front of my apt and no one knew anything. - sure
8) 2 windows, not nearly enough light
9) there was one friendly lady and one total witch working in the front office
10) they charged the undocumented workers living there more rent i guess that is incase they got caught for renting to people with invalid id.
11) in front of my mailbox is a huge bush. i have to walk through the bush thats up to my shoulders to get to my mailbox. And there's holes in the mailbox so i get wet mail when it rains.
12) the door creaks like the ones out of a horror movie and the peephole and the doorbell is broken beyond repair. only 2 of the 3 locks work.
13) my back screen door fell off 3 times. very cheaply made. i didnt get a screen on my bedroom window until 6 months into my lease. and on the left of my window i couldn't put my curtain up because the wood was rotted. i told them to fix it and still to this day they haven't.
14) when i moved in the shower head was rusted and spit out only 3 or 4 holes. i just bought a new one. plus the shower curtain rod just fell off i had to buy a new one of those too. they couldn't even clean out the toilet before i moved in. i had to do that too!

My lease isnt up for another 3 months but im trying my best to get out of my lease before then. Don't rent from Pralle Meadows. Now i know that cheaper isn't always better. Pay more, get more.
