I had to find an apartment for work without much time to shop around (I'm talking 2 days in town to figure it out). I settled on this one. Not a bad area, close to the basics and safe. They do require a pretty hefty deposit, 4 months rent I think if you haven't been in your previous occupation for a year, which is absurd, but I didn't have time to argue or go elsewhere. I mean the rent was decent, included a fireplace and a washer / drier and I had the ability to pay the insane deposit so why not' Well I was out of town for work temporarily before transfering when I started getting 3 calls a week wanting my employers address, pay stubs, applications etc. I fed exed everything and being on temporary assigment I listed my return address as my last apartment on the east coast. They told me they couldn't accept my package as it wasn't addressed to a specific employee of theirs...well great, they returned my checks and info 2,000 miles east because I addressed it to the company not a person.
Finally after sorting all that out I call to verify I can move in on a Sunday. No problem they say, so I move cross country and arrive on Sunday only to find nobody here. Long story short I spend the night in a downpour in a hotel while the furniture I couldn't fit in the trailer is getting soaked warped and destroyed in the bed of my truck. I move in, the apartment is clean, no complaints. Pretty straight forward. Well except the bathroom sink has no pipes and the water is flooding the bathroom. They fixed that pretty quickly, but in my unit its obvious there is serious water damage sagging the floor. No complaints with maintenence after 3 calls. Always quick, but they never call ahead of time. Personally I don't care about that. My only problem is after fixing a hot water heater element they failed to turn my hot water back on, which I did myself after a cold cold shower.
They don't seem to plow anything ever, God have mercy if it snows more than an inch, the staff is snide and really the majority of the place is full of college kids who spend their time getting drunk by the pool when the weather is nice.
