Nice Apartments - Would Rent Again @ Autumn Oaks.

I just read some of the negative reviews and felt I should give my opinion. We lived at Autumn Oaks from '03-'05 and had a great experience. The management always took care of things in a timely manner. The apartments were very nice & looked new when we moved in. We never had bugs like another reviewer said. The maintenance man was always courteous. The management would always leave a note on the doorknob in a plastic bag to let us know when they would be doing scheduled maintenance such as installing a new filter, etc. Contrary to what other reviewers said, they do not charge you outrageous fees when you move out UNLESS you trash the place. In that case, you deserve the fees. When you give notice that you are moving out, they give you a document stating the possible fees you may incur. If you clean your apartment and follow the simple things on the document, you shouldn t have any problems. We got our full deposit back. We did thoroughly clean every nook and cranny, just to be safe. We were NEVER charged for light bulbs or filters, either.

Here s the only CON I had: My initial impression of the assistant leasing manager wasn t great. When we first visited the leasing office, the asst. manager, Lisa R., wasn t very friendly. It seemed like we were inconveniencing her, yet NO ONE was there. I don t know why maybe she was just having a bad day. However, once she looked over our application, her attitude immediately changed and she was A OKAY with proceeding. Who knows, maybe she had some apartment tire kickers that day and thought we were, too. Or maybe she saw that we had ample income/credit. Regardless, the first impression was less than stellar and that s the impression that stuck. Not a good attitude to have when you are in sales. I never had to deal with her after that. I m not sure if she is there anymore. There was another manager by the name of Kim who was very sweet & helpful.

Overall, I would recommend AO to others. Much nicer than the other apts in West Co area. that we looked at. There is so much more in the area, now, compared to when we lived there. Then, they hadn t started building all the stuff on both corners of Dougherty Ferry and Big Bend. There's a new Shop n Save, Walgreens, etc. just down the street, too. The only reason we moved out was because we saved enough to purchase a house.
