DO NOT GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT TO HOLD AN APARTMENT...THEY WILL STEAL IT AND RIP YOU OFF!!!

I visited Heather Ridge apartments 6 weeks ago and was informed I would be able to get a large sized one bedroom apartment for $615/mo. I asked to see the unit, but was unable to because the woman in the leasing office stated it had to be cleaned. I wrote a $200 deposit check to save the apartment, when I returned 2 days later to see the apartment, I was informed it was the smaller style one bedroom on the second floor for $675/mo. I informed the woman in the leasing office that I was no longer interested. About 1 or 2 days later, I checked my bank account and noticed my $200 check to Heather Ridge had been cashed. I called the leasing office and was informed that I would receive a refund within 30 days. It has now been 6 weeks, and I still do not have my money. I do not get anywhere when I call the leasing office or the corporate management, Gannon. Bottom line, until you have seen the actual apartment and are ready to sign a lease, do not give them a deposit, Even then I would be careful. THIS PLACE IS SHADY!!
