I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews of Southmoor. I have had a great experience living here for the past year and a half. Maybe I just lucked out, but I love my little third floor apartment. It's really quiet up there, I have my own washer and dryer, and any time I have had a maintenance problem the management was very fast to fix it. This week I had to call them for something, and it was fixed the same day! I also love living here because of the gorgeous landscaping. I think they do a great job with this. Even at the pool there are flowers in hanging baskets and pots all around. I also feel Southmoor is more of a family-oriented community. They have a lot of events throughout the year,such as pool parties, barbecues, Christmas parties, they even recently had a "resident appreciation day" where they served carside breakfast to people on their way to work! I am a twenty-something professional and as a single woman, I feel very safe here. I also feel that the staff is extremely friendly and professional.

With all that said, I don't see how anyone can have a negative experience here. Still, I would recommend living in the third floor if you can, as there is the least amount of noise in those apartments, imho. Also, I'd recommend getting the washer and dryer if you can. The laundry room is nice, but sometimes the machines break down or don't work correctly, and that can be a pain. Oh and if you work out, plan on keeping yor gym membership. The "gym" consists of a few treadmills from the early 80's and some freeweights. Not horrible, but definitely not enough if you work out regularly. The Y is about 5 minutes away, though.
