This what happendm My lease was up July 31st.
So I went to the office early June to ask them to renew my lease for One month. just for the month of August since i was moving to my new home. When renewing my lease I asked her do i need to give a 30 day notice since I am going to be leaving in the month of August and my new lease is just for one month. She said "you dont since the lease is just for a month". So I signed the lease and the end of the month I moved out. I recived a letter from them september 9th saying since I dint give them 30 day notice I have to pay rent for the month of September. Or else they are going to send it to the collection agency. When i was signing the lease one of the condations was that i need to give a 30 day written notice. But since i was going to be staying there just for a month they said its not necesarry.
I feel this what happend and Might be WRONG. The lady who signed our lease forgot to mark it in their books saying that the apt will be available in the month of September and they are trying to cover it up by legal terms saying i signed a contract and it say's i have to give 30 day notice.
