I lived here for 4.5 yrs. After getting a house at what I considered a bargain, I decided to break the lease. The staff took 7 days to prepare a 1 page document with 4 mistakes in it including the amount of lease breakage. They charged me a heavy $2K for breaking the lease. My friends have stayed lesser times in other apts and have had far better lease breakage concessions. On top of the 2K they sent me a bill of $400 for items like carpet damage and marks on the wall. Those worn out items were proably never replaced or painted from last 7 years I guess( I lived 5 yrs and when I moved in these things were not new). Still I was responsible to financially help the colony repair it. When I disputed the charges, the staff said they will look at it, a week later I got a notice from a collection agency of $400. It was hardly 30 days since I had returned the keys. There was no payment due date on the bill - no bill reminders - and the bill was on dispute with the colony. Colony was just directly trying to ruin my credit history. I plan to file a BBB.org complaint against the colony - any suggestions'
