Last May my brother, a friend, and signed a lease for one year at the pavilion apartments. Things were left unfinished when management gave us permission to move in. Such things included non painted areas, including part of the ceiling where a light once was and not replaced, paint, paint brush, and trash left on the balcony storage shed which we later were charged for (but cleaned up the trash when we moved in and out), a front door that would not lock completely and could be pushed ajar from the outside evne though it was "locked"- a major safety concern for 2 young college girls, non lit area to walk safely to ou apartment, closet doors not on the tracks, and a running toilet, and an AC that never got below 78. Complaints were given to the management and some of the items were never taken care of or fixed. The front door was fixed after 3 different times of complaints and maintence saying that it was fixed as well as the AC and toilet. The water bill got up to $37 with 1 person living in that apartment. (My brother works on a river barge-gone a month at a time and I lived at my boyfriend's apartment since September, the other roommate stayed there). The AC bill ranged from $120-165 even after it was "fixed" and still did not blow out cold air. The paint on the celing and the missing light was never fixed neither was the paint removed in the small storage shed. All 3 of us were moved out by the end of April, leaving an entire month paid for, but vacant as discussed with pavilion and the drop of of the keys. The place was left in better shape after we left than when we moved in. Management took our $99 deposit as well as charged us for an extra $9 and $60.16 of which they stated to be for the paint, paint brush, and trash (no trash when we left) and "black marks all over the bathroom" which none were there when all 3 of us left in April. So we were charged a total of $168.16 for paint left by the unfinished maintenance of pavilion and "black marks" that were not there when we left. We were all angry about the charges. My brother called the apartments and even drove to St. Louis from his new residence, an hour and 25 minute drive, paid the pavilion because mangement would not listen to him about the charges being made. He has great credit and didn't want it ruined by anyone. Pavilion kept the $99 deposit fee. He paid $60.16 on June 23, 2006 and another $9 on June 24, 2006 because of the 2 seperate letters that were sent to him. On August 7 a letter was sent to his address with my name on it. Pavilion had sent the $69.16 to a collection agency called Consumer Collection Management Inc. ( P.O. Box 1839 Maryland Heights, MO 63043 314-432-2430). On August 17 my brother came to St. Louis to straighten his wrongfully acused accusations out. (He just returned from work)Pavilion said that he must talk to the above mentioned agency, he did and the agency made copies of his checks that paid for the apartment "damage". He spoke to a lady at the apartment office whom was extremely rude to him and later just as rude to me. Later that day, I went to speak to the manager and she was not available so that rude lady insisted that I speak to her. I did, however I wanted to make an appointment with the manager, but she said that the manager could do nothing more than she. I asked for the corporate number to the apartment complex, but the lady refused. She gave me a number to the pavilion office. I did not speak to the manager because that lady would not give me an appointment time or tell me if the manager would be back soon. She asked what more I wnated than the office sending the copies of the check to the collection agency. I replied that my brother and I be given an apology for all of the inconvience, mistakes, and unfair/inaccurate dealings caused to us. She said "You're not getting an apology from me." Plus I submitted this crap by the Pavilion to the Better Business Bureau!

I have lived at the Pavillion almost 8years and seen many changes. However most of what has been said here is true. I have been in two seperate units. The first a 3bedroom 2 bath unfortunatley for most of the five years I lived here the second bath was not usable because of leaks from the apartment above. It took months to get it fixed and then plaster would fall again. The toilet ran constantly and did not flush right dispite numerous calls to maintnance. I have now moved into one of the newly remodeled units and no its no better. They spray painted the walls and you can already see dark spots bleeding thru. The paint on the doorjams is chipping and my front door does not lock propertly. My new frost free refrigerator freezes up and leaks air due to a bad gasket but they have no others to replace it with. My bathtub had no inards to the drain so they had to rig a double drain so it would hold water. Hall lights are replaced when I replace them or it would be mightly dark. They took the garbag e disposals out dispite them still being on the lease because they say they are a maintnance hassle. The plumbing and wiring were not replaces and I was told by one of the contractors there is mold in all of there walls and that to fix it properly they need to replace everything. Now that Mullinex has the property back maintnance is down the tubes and they do not care who they rent to.
