Management was TERRIBLE!

1 month after moving into a ground floor apartment the place flooded because they do not allow for back-flow in the water main. Carpet by the HVAC closet was soaked and there was water coming from under the stove and kitchen cabinets. 5 months later...same deal. This time, there were remnants of my neighbor's dinner in the water. Water logged roast beef all over the floor and soaking the carpet. About this time, I started to notice a terrible swampy smell about the apartment. No more than 6 weeks later it happened again. This time, there was sewage backup in the bathtub. It was a Sunday evening so no one arrived to look at it until Monday, despite it being called in as an emergency. After the 3rd time it was the last straw. I went to the main office and demanded something be done. After reviewing my legal rights and understanding that I couldn't legally break my lease (my preferred option at this point) without suffering a HUGE financial burden (read the fine print people!). I demanded a new apartment. So, after 24 hours of arguing with the management in which they treated me like the bad guy I was left to clean up my sewage flooded apartment and move into a new unit. The next day I was taken to tour two new units and agreed on one of them. I was informed that I couldn't start moving until I had signed the paperwork for the new apartment. Two days later and still trying to live in a sewage contaminated apartment they finally had the paperwork ready. I, of course, immediately went in to sign. While signing the paperwork I was told that I would have only 3 days to move from my old unit to the new one. Non-negotiable. This would be too much inconvenience for them. Nevermind, the 5 days in a literal -----hole that I had to live with. Also, there was nothing done to compensate me for the trouble I had to go through. Thanks for nothing, Pavillion Mgmt!

The same thing happened to me but AT LEAST I got them to compensate me for the days that I lived in a swamp and they paid for movers. I wonder if it was the same apartment...
