New Management - Stay Away

Berkshire purchased the property from Michelson in early 2004. At that time Waterford Downs was a great place to live and had a competent management team.
But now each basement has severe leaks (I was told it wasn't just ours) and the new management is unresponsive. Also the maintenance staff will make reoccurring visits to fix the same problem. In addition the leaky basements and leaky ceilings (there are water stains in the corners) are so severe that mold began growing in our unit. The management company would not offer any mold remediation assistance even after repeated requests. We were left all alone, paying for an environmental inspector and for the lab tests to determine what was causing our severe health problems. Tests showed we had near toxic levels of mold. Berkshire refused to cover the environmental testing costs (although it helped them isolate the issue with their own property) or for the items we trashed (b/c of mold) or for the inconvenience of moving (that was the only option they gave us) they would not EVEN MOVE US TO A DIFFERENT APARTMENT! All they want is your monthly check. Try Heather Ridge, I don't know if it's better, but it is next door and anything is better than a Berkshire managed apartment complex.

Stay away from Waterford Downs and any Berkshire property. They do not care about you. We were very patient during our repeated requests for help but Berkshire never responded or helped us with the mold situation. On top of all that we had to make several phone calls to get our entire deposit back.

You have been warned!

The day when toxic mold is shown to be as caustic to health as asbestos, Berkshire will have gigantic legal problems.
