STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I lived (notice the past tense) on the bottom floor of a 2 story building and the roof leaked EVERYWHERE. It took them over three months to fix it after I complained to them (and I complained weekly and in some instances, I complained daily). I was treated rudely and was rushed off of the phone 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time, I was lectured about someone complaining about my dog barking. So what did I do' What any GOOD resident would do - remove him from the premises (took him to my parents' house) so I could get training for him so he would stop barking. Too bad they couldn't be GOOD landlords and fix the roof. When I moved out (with mold VISIBLY growing on the wall and a huge hole in my ceiling), they slapped me with a $2200 bill for breaking the lease. However, the reason I moved out is that back in December when the leak first started occurring, I asked if I could simply transfer to another apartment and was told by the maintenance supervisor that it would be a "hassle" and to just ride it out because the roof would be fixed "soon."
Sorry! Three months of living in mold and wet carpet and drips isn't soon enough. It was so bad that I moved back in with my parents, something I swore I'd never do again in my entire life. Their negligence is the reason I moved out, yet they want to charge me for breaking the lease anyway. If anything, THEY owe ME a refund for three months of rent I paid ON TIME IN FULL every month while the roof leaked into my apartment.
I moved out one week before my 30-day notice was up but before I turned my keys in, I stopped by the apartment to take one final look and make sure everything was in order and CLEAN before I handed the keys over. I walked into my apartment to find it absolutely DECIMATED. Though my rent covered me till the end of the month, they just couldn't wait to get in there and dig up the bathroom floor to take care of the sewer problem that continually flooded out my neighbor across the hall. Yes, raw sewage - RAW SEWAGE - was a common occurrence around there, coming up through the floorboards. I'd had it come up through my bathtub drain before. It's disgusting. They need the health department called on them, that building is falling apart and needs to be condemned.
DO NOT MOVE TO WEST POINTE APARTMENTS.

http://community.webshots.com/user/weathergeek81 includes damage to the ceiling as a result of the leaking roof and when they decimated my apartment, though I was still paying rent on it at the time. What if I had needed to stay there that night or something'!
