I'm thinking of moving to West Pointe. I've seen better places, but the current special they are running makes them hard to resist. I've read a bunch of negative posts, but I've found that only those people who have very negative experiences tend to search out these avenues to vent. I've read several negative experiences about my current complex and I love it there (just too pricey) so I know that some bad posts don't necessarily tell the whole story. Is there anyone out there who currently lives in West Pointe that can give me an honest review. Nothing against these negative ones, but most of these negative reviews seems to be the same 3 or 4 people who obviously make it a point to check the postings regularly. And the few positive ones do seem a bit concocted. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

quite honestly here are the complaints that i have. we have had a couple spiders, but not brown recluses, harmless wolf spiders. i have not had any issue w/ my heat or air conditioning. the one major thing that happened was that a pipe busted and flooded my apartment, however this was not my fault or the apartment's fault and when maintenance was called they responded quickly. i have never had a problem with maintenance but like i said i haven't had too many issues to be resolved. i can not speak for the pool or the laundry room as i use a different pool and i have my own washer and dryer. we live in the townhomes across from 7/11. we are not going to renew our lease, however this is due to the fact that the walls are very thin and i'm due to have a baby in march. i think these reviews are probably true for some people, but as with all apartment complexs you are going to have people who have had good and bad experiences. unfortunately thats the price you pay for renting anywhere. it's not the greatest but it's certainly not the worst.

Teresa1977......... Can you please, please explain more of your flooding problems? We are currently on the 1st floor and have yellow spots all over the ceiling (so flooded ceiling) as well as it is starting to crumple. We have been informed by management that we need to just wait this out (which who knows how long that will take). I have asked for them to move us or if there is anything they can do and management (Lisa Rook the property manager) has simply said that this is a "normal" renting problem and that we would just have to wait it out. Um.. it is not normal when your ceiling looks like it is going to cave in as well as your carpeting is alway soaked. Basically we now have to wait for it to rain (with our living room currently in shambles to protect our furniture) to tell them if the problem is getting worse. Um.. I think teh problem is bad enough adn I REALLY do not want to wait for it to cave in. Then maintenance can come out for the fourth tim eto try and bandaid the issue. On top of that we have mold sprouting up everywhere as well as very wet/smelly carpeting. I have been very polite in this, howver, I am about to loose my patience. Who did you talk to that assisted you so well? How did you get them to move you as well as give you $300 dollars? I asked if there was anything they can assist us with for our incovenice and teh response I got was no... and once again every apartment will have maintenance issues. Please help direct me?

I don???t check this often; sorry did not see your issue. The person living above me contacted the city inspector and he came out and basically condemned his apartment due to mold. Mold is very toxic; it took me several months to get them to give me a credit. I had a hole in my ceiling and my furniture covered in plastic for a month. Once I mentioned the health department had been upstairs and that I was calling them for my apartment they suddenly became a lot more cooperative. I don???t remember exactly who helped me, the first offer was to just break my lease but due to moving expenses I told them that it was not a good enough solution. I also contacted Gannon with no luck. Be persistent with the office. I called just about every other day.
