Some good, some bad

First, I'll address some of the issues of other posts. Parking really depends on where you live in the complex. I've never experienced any parking problems on my side (left entrance) so I'm thinking that most of the gripes come from people that use the right entrance which seems to have a lower ratio of spots to apartments. Noise from neighbors is pretty average as far as apartments go and I've lived in a lot of them. The most noticable thing for me is the slamming of cabinet doors/drawers since in my apartment, the kitchen and main bath cabinets are mounted on the wall that is common with the adjacent apartment and the neighbor has kids that just slam the things rather than shutting them easily (the doors are quite large). I've lived here for around seven months and I haven't seen any bug problems but then I live on the third floor so maybe folks on the lower floors see more of a problem. My primary beef is with the cheap appliances and the fact that I'm on my second ice maker and it still doesn't make much ice which I'm going to have to address to maintenence (again). However, overall the maintenence staff is prompt but sometimes it takes a couple of calls for them to get it right. The office staff has always treated me well but my wife has had a couple of instances with them so I guess it depends on which one of the girls you get on a particular day (hey, we all have bad days). The grounds are kept in really good shape and the construction of the buildings in my opinion are above average as far as apartments go. My main complaint really has nothing to do with the apartments themselves or the staff.. it's the residents or Mario Andretti want-a-be's that fly thru the complex at warp speed. Backing out of a space when there's a large vehicle beside you or out of a gargage (yes, our second car actually lives in our garage) can be tricky with some of the wingnuts that live here. Anyway, that's my $.02 worth...I renewed for another 6 months so it can't be all bad.
