For the price and square footage, you can definitely find a much nicer place than this!! The previous review written by stinstl was spot on. The neighbors are all low-life, chain-smoking spouse-abusers. Our neighbors use our patio as a garbage can and an ashtray. We are constantly being awoken at night by people screaming obscenities at each other or police banging on doors. The grounds are complete crap, it's noisy and there is no privacy, especially if you are on the first or second floors. The carpet, appliances, cupboards, & countertops are all ancient! New owners/managers have taken over, but all they've done so far is put in a bunch of rediculously placed stop signs and jack up the price. We are NOT impressed and look forward to moving out this month!

In any situation, change takes time and patience. There is always a possiblity that you won't like your neighbors or that they are rude people. Applicants don't take personality tests.
Management companies take a lot of flack for situations that they know nothing about. If you don't complain to your manager and they are unaware of what's happening, you can't expect them to magically make everything rosy. Your office staff is there to provide you with the best possible living experience- as far as management and maintenance are concerned. We all make mistakes, so you have to bear with them when they do make mistakes and provide them with the opportunity to correct their mistakes. If you have legitimate complaints, call the leasing or business office or put it in writing. But do understand that there is a protocol that is to be followed and that you might not like the solution.
As far as changes and renovations, most people will only see that things are not better in the apartment they rented years ago. If things are broken or need maintenance, please don't wait two years and come to the office staff with a two page list. Notify your staff right away when there is any issue in your home so that it can be taken care of in a timely fashion.
As far as jacking up prices, it is very rare to find a community that does not have rate increases on an annual basis. It is common and short of buying a home, you won't escape that. If you feel that your experience won't get any better and you are truly unhappy with your home and management and staff, then you should find a place better suited for you. But do not lump your bad feelings for a place and it's residents if you are unwilling to deal with the changes that will make your community one that is comparable to the nicer ones in your area.
