While we feel that it is wonderful for consumers to have a place where they can post their concerns and complaints, Peine Lakes Apartments feels that it is our turn to be heard and share our comments. Apartmentratings.com is an outlet for individuals to post their feelings on particular apartment communitites. Those individuals who have felt compelled to post on this website should be fortunate to have an outlet to express their feelings, however, when reviewing this site, please keep the following in mind.

We have reviewed each posting and response that is on this site regarding Peine Lakes. The majority of the postings did come from individuals who were upset about something. We are not going to deny the fact that our property does have rules and regulations as well as policies and procedures. If we did not have such items, Peine Lakes would be a horrible place to live and would have a negative image. Do you really want to live in a community with NO order? It is unfortunate to us that because some individuals have chosen not to abide by our policies that they are unhappy, (our policies are not a lot different from other apartment communities). We would like to provide a few examples of some of the reasons why people are upset:

1. We do have pool rules and expect our residents and their guests to abide by those rules; we do not like that we have to revoke pool privileges because adults can not conduct themselves like adults.
2. We do not hide the fact that from time to time we do run rental concessions (or move in specials), all of our rental concessions are well documented, well conveyed to our potential residents and our staff does everything that they can do within their power to get people moved in so that they can get the "special" that they were eligible to receive. It is not our fault if individuals put off their move in dates and are therefore no longer eligible for a particular special.
3. We manage our apartment communities and expect our residents to abide by our policies and procedures. We are not running a "concentration camp" and do offer several amenities that cater to our residents and their families such as our Beyond the Bell Program. We do not tolerate individuals (whether young or old) disrespecting other residents, our property, or our staff and in the past have had to ask families to move out due to failure to abide by the policies put in place. It is unfortunate to us both professionally as well as personally when we see that children are so "starved" for attention that they are acting out is such ways that are disrespectful. If we did not take action, we would have several complaints regarding our lack of concern for our residents.
4. We are under an affordable housing program and it is the policy of our company to pre-qualify each person that calls as well as visits our community. We feel that because of our rental requirements (the majority of apartment communities do have rental requirements) we owe it to our prospective residents to be upfront and get as much information as possible to determine eligibility for residency. Wouldn't you be upset if you had your heart set on moving into a community and were told after the fact that you didn't qualify to reside there due to your household income or credit history. It is a customer service that we provide and are sorry that individuals get upset with us trying to be upfront and gathering information.
5. We do expect our residents to pay their rent on time. Can you fill your car up with gas and then try to come back months later and pay for it? In addition, we do expect our residents to abide by our policies and when concerns are brought to our attention (especially after several chances were given) and we have to ask someone to move out, it is a protection to our residents and their families.
6. Our staff undergoes personalized tranining and it is unfortunate that some individuals feel that they have experienced less than perfect customer service.

Peine Lakes Apartments is a great place to call home and we would invite any of the individuals who have posted on this website to contact us directly so that we can explain to you again why you were asked to move out (which should not come as a suprise), why you didn't receive the rental concession, or why you were not qualified. To those individuals who have made personal lashes towards our staff, we would invite you as well to come forward so that we can further discuss why exactly you are upset.

Again, we feel that apartmentratings.com is a great website for individuals to express their concerns or share good experiences; we would like to remind everyone that sometimes reasons for dissatisfaction are "self-inflicted" and not everything that you hear or read is true. We would like to encourage anyone who is concerned with the comments posted on this website to contact our office so that we can show you that our entire staff is devoted as well as committed to servicing our residents and potential residents as well as providing the highest level of customer service available.

Yes with all that said Peine Lakes is a very nice place to call home love the peace and quiet I can say I am glad you do have rules, very glad you look into complaints about noise but just to be honest some of you in the office could work on your customer service skills. But over all the property is nice and well kept and I must stay when you call about something needs to be fixed it is done right away.

You are rude -------.. It seems strange to me if everyone on here except maybe one or two people have the same thing to say about you girls... Maybe you all are the angry ones.. Get it together rude -------.. I can't wait until the day one of you get out of line because just like you girls have nasty ways I can get one too!!! Can't wait until this lease is up I would not refer anyone to live here due to the people in the office now if a whole new staff was to take over yes Peine Lakes would be a wonderful place to live ...

Maybe it's just me but i search the reviews of other apartments in the area and they seemed to have a significantly higher overall rating than this place and those places are much older. Seriously, the other places are holding an average 50% rating while you have less than 30. That means that 70 percent of the people giving ratings are unhappy and it seems they are unhappy with management. Maybe you should consider working on your customer service skills and hope
no one reads your post here where it says that " the customers aren't always right". It is with that type of thinking that maybe that is the reason this place is falling apart and is why they have to up the promotions just to get people in here. I gotta say, I wasn't totally shocked when i saw the reviews on here because i live here and I have talked to others that live here.

Well if you are looking at all the other apartments are you reading them? They have alot more reviews and are ALOT more serious!!!!All you are doing is whining about silly things. What is exactly falling apart? As far as promotions why dont you call the other apartments and see what promos they are running....I would love to talk to you because I am a resident and I know alot of other residents who love living here. Maybe you should consider buying a house because you oviously can not handle apt living!!!!!

It must be a real problem with management if most everyone who post a comment really have anything good to say about them. I live here and have had problem with the rude girls. The grounds are very nice but now I did see one where kids started to write on the walkways with chalk after awhile we won't be able to say the grounds are nice. I just wish the parents will control your kids because it makes me very upset come home from a long day at work and try to relax and hear all the running up and down the stairs it is a play area use it!

I came to see the apartments as a possbile tenant. I visited w/ one of the ladies in the office she came across rude and in a hurry to show the apartment. I almost change me mind about seeing the apartment due to her attitude. The only reason I stayed is my desire to see the apartment out weighted her attitude.. I felt like I inconvienced her by having her do her job. I am glad to hear it was not just me.. The ratings are low management has there explanation on why "lack of customer service skills". Thanks for the website.

less than perfect customer service?? how about not even close to almost adequate customer service?? the peine lakes staff just proved your points by writing this response. they are so quick to blame everyone but themselves. i am so glad to hear everyone say that these girls are rude. they are! they made rude sighs and comments every time i came in. gundaker needs to fire them all and get a nice friendly staff. i talked to the girl at o'fallon lakes before it opened and she was so nice, friendly and helpful. and guess what? i was one of those people who had their heart set on moving to peine lakes after giving them all my income info months ahead of time. i was told i did qualify and 2 weeks before my move i was told i didn't qualify. nothing had changed. magical math?

Wow.... some serious problems.. Piene Lakes- you guys have to check yourselves, because you are being evaluated by your peers here (not to mention your own clients who live there). If you can't change attitudes, regardless of fault, then you have to get out of the business It is because of all these postings (including the PLakes response) that Im not going to consider this as an option. Im sure Im not alone.

Peine Lakes is truly a GREAT PLAE TO CAL HOME! I can not immagine life any differently, as if not for Peine Lakes, I would had never met one of my best friends, and my volunteering 3 years now, for the children's needs, Beyond The BEll. Peine is a wounderful place to live, its rural, yet urban, yet also country. How perfect! There's nothing I can comlain about, but, we have lots of HIGH praises, And, I have yet to see RUDE girls at the office. Are you sure your talking about the right apartment complex? I have the upmost repect for each and every one of the girls, and ENJOY living here, going on my 3rd year. Kerry

ok. so how do you go about getting around the 20 year old rule?! stupid. ok. so i am 19 and just graduated with a good degree and getting a good job on salary pay and looking to rent here and i want to get the special right now for 2 bdroom for $550. BUT i cant cause im only "19". STUPID! i make really good money and am willing to pay rent! so why are they rejecting me! they have so many vacant apts. they just lost business and money cause im 19. now it would be different if i was only 19 and worked fast food making min wage. but come on! for real! i just went in today and got turned down. seriously. ug and yea the office lady was kinda rude she said all she could do for me "was give me a floor plan" i couldnt even check out the apts or tour or anything. she treated me like a child! i am only 19 yes. but hey i have a lot more income than most 19 year olds. and willing to pay rent. this is dumb! im pissed now.
