What a joke.

Don't bother with renting or even applying at Peine Lakes. I turned in an application to live there on May 2. Today, on June 19 (one week before I was set to move out of my current apartment; thanks for getting right back to me on that), they called me back to see if I was still interested in renting from them. This, after multiple calls to them that were never returned, or returned so far after the fact that it showed how little they truly care about potential tenants, and after multiple calls from them to inquire about the same information over and over. Do you not know how to take a note' I didn't have to tell you three times where I went to school for my student loan, did I' Apparently, the answer is yes.
Also, their application fee may only be $10 right now, but expect them to charge your checking account for verifications without notifying you. I have a $5 charge from my account that I don't remember authorizing. That $10 application fee looks nice, but please, bump it up to cover the costs of other verifications, or at least have applicants sign an authorization form to debit their accounts.
I've also heard many a horror story about renting from Peine Lakes, some of which you can read right here. It seems that there are just a small handful of people who like renting from a place that looks nice on the surface (and it does; their property is quite lovely to look at), but would probably end up being a total nightmare to live in.
All in all, I would say avoid Peine Lakes like the plague. I'll certainly tell everyone I know not to even bother, since your application probably won't get processed for more than a month and they'll charge your checking account without your authorization.
