Mostly it's NOT a safe area of town anymore! Within 6 months there have been 3 murders within a block of these apartments. A month ago 2 men were killed at the HUD apartment JUST A COUPLE OF YARDS away from mark vi. This HUD apartment building is filled with scary looking characters that do wander over and hang out at mark vi anytime day or night. Also the HUD place it's a horrible eyesore you have to pass daily.

There are often very drunk students VERY carelessly crossing 4th from a nearby bar so driving can be scary.

As far as management and staff: Had to ask for several repairs when moved in. Multiple requests and trips were required because 2 things on my list were not really fixed. One thing on my list was totally ignored by maintenance. There is often trash, fast food cups and tons of cigarette buts around the parking lot. There is a no pet policy but several cats roam so someone must own pets.

mattb.....my question to you is...did anything "scary" happen to you while you lived there?!? no matter where you go, there will always be risks. i lived in a GATED community in a very nice area and there was more crime there than at Mark VI. someone was walking to his car and got shot by a stranger! that has never happened at Mark VI. so for you to say that is not a safe place when nothing happened to you is not right. also, one death was a suicide the other a domestic dispute between a couple. so neither one of those had anything to do with a stranger going on a killing spree! also, there are stray cats in this world! and they do roam. I can understand the maintenance problems but the other complaints you had were ridiculous! I lived there and loved it! I never felt unsafe just b/c of another apartment looking scary....haha!
