Sutton Place

I lived at Sutton Place for several years until my job relocated me. When I first moved in, it seemed very nice. The walkways were swept and my neighbors were polite. Then, about two years ago, things started going downhill. Less-than-savory people began moving in and upkeep on the common areas became unsatisfactory. The people who, thankfully briefly, lived next door to me were selling drugs, so they were always fighting loudly and the police were there quite often. Someone broke the windshield wipers on my car, then a few months later, actually broke into my car. Another time, someone tried to break into my apartment while I was at work. In the last few months, things had gotten much better. However, there are still some downsides to living here, such as the fact that there is only one entrance/exit for the complex and the fact that the road is so busy makes it extremely difficult to get in and out, particularly in the afternoons. There is also only one dumpster for the complex, so if you're on the other side, plan on putting your garbage in your car to take it over. There are so many people that they really need another dumpster since the one that's there is often overflowing. There are many open areas for children to play in, plus a walking area around the lake (which needs repair), but parents let their kids play in the street! Several times, I had to come to a quick stop because a child ran out in front of my car and often there would be no adult anywhere around. I never had any problems with maintenance getting to me quickly when I reported a problem, and that only happened three times in the four years I was there. The people on staff have been very nice and helpful, but they are always busy and overworked. I cannot recommend them right now. However, if they continued to improve as they have in the last six months, I would in the future.
