Leaning apartment

Years at this apartment: 1997 - 1998

I lived at the Trace for one year exactly in 1997-1998 in Phase I. I had the large one bedroom apartment, upstairs on a corner. My heater or air conditioner ran so much that my power bill was outrageous. My neighbor who had a smaller apartment than I had said his power bills were higher than mine.

The fireplace was a big old window, letting wind in and out and was extremely noisy despite being closed.

My refrigerator had a coolant leak, so much so that I could smell it in the food from the refrigerator. I had to call maintenance over and over to come fix it. They kept cleaning my garbage disposal stating that was the smell I was smelling. Low and behold, someone who knew what they were doing showed up and said it?s the refrigerator.

My apartment was falling off the whole building. When water splashed behind the kitchen sink, it promptly ran down the counter to the floor. This occurred in the bathroom also. When you laid on the floor, the blood in one?s body would pool on one side of your body. (I know this to be true since I moved in with no furniture and I was sleeping on the floor).

My front porch light went out and left the entrance pitch black. I called 3 times before the light was replaced. Once replaced it, blew again and had to call 3 more times.

I left Trace for an apartment in Jackson, just done the street that included basic cable a larger one bedroom for less.

I could hear my neighbor blasting John Mellencamp despite our not sharing but 3 feet of wall which was in a closet.

There?s a lake on the walking path behind a few buildings that looks like the swamp thing lives in it.

AND when it rained heavily, one of the buildings had tenants whose apartments flooded due to the storm drain location directly infront of their door. The drain couldn?t keep up with the water and the overflow went directly into apartments.

One more thing, don't even think about getting home quickly in the months of November and December. Since the community is located directly behind the mall and behind the post office, the traffic is absolutely horrendous during this time of the year. You might as well park and walk home. You'll get there faster.
