Increasing disrepair, Increasing despair!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 1/4/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I previously made a posting on 6/28, and more than six months later things have not improved. The tenants above us moved out, and before the new tenants moved in we visited the office *THREE* times to ask for the floorboards to be fixed now the apartment was empty. We feel that we have been very patient, understanding that it was difficult to fix such a problem while the apartment was occupied.
Well, the senor management was NEVER available for us, but the junior staff that were in the office did write up a Work Order and assured us repeatedly that the floor above us would be attended to. Then, one day it was Bang-Bang-Bang, all day long. It was hell, but we were relieved that at long last the creaky floor above us was being fixed.
We were wrong! All they were doing was installing a new carpet, and extra thick padding. The creaking floorboards themselves were not fixed/replaced, and the end result is:
(1) the creaking floorboards are now even worse due to the Bang-Bang of the new carpet installation,
(2) the new tenants do not hear the creaking themselves due to the extra thick padding,
(3) the creaking noise is reflected downwards to us more due to the extra thick padding.
I can not express how upset we are that the management did not do a proper job and have made our situation worse after our many months of suffering. We have had countless nights of being woken up from our sleep due to the noisy floor above us.
We cannot recommend that anyone rents at The Trace. Take a good hard look at this place and consider alternatives. The state of disrepair is increasing all the time. Check out all the pot-holes in the road-ways, and the condition of the jogging trail. Take a look at the one trash point for the entire complex. The pool looks nice, but so far as we know the Hot Tub was never functional in all of 2007. There are two communal laundry rooms, and neither have hot water. The apartment staff will talk nicely to you and give a lot of assurance, but do not be fooled, and definitely avoid a long lease.
