I do not recommend Van Mark apartments as a safe environment to live in. The apartment buildings all need remodeling. The wood steps leading to upper level apartments is old and unsafe. Most fixtures, appliances, and floors within the apartments need replacing.

During the 2005 year, there have been more burglaries in which Van Mark is concealing from their residents. They would rather jeopardize their residents' safety in order to get paid rent each month.

Also note that maintenance will enter an apartment at any hour without permission, regardless of if there is an emergency. I awoke one morning at 4:30 a.m. to have a strange man in my den. There was no flood or fire, but the maintenance man had come in to check a noise that another resident (that did not live near me) had heard.

The apartment office is managed poorly and is not truly concerned about residents' safety.
