------------------------ Courtesy officer that is racist against ------. He goes out of his way to harass me and my neighbors. Over a handicap parking space. Surely,I wasn't going to park there. I just was unloading some groceries. And,he saw that. He comes up in the police car and was very very very rude and ignorant. It's a difference
in doing your job and being plain ignorant. He makes me very uncomfortable!

I would like to respond to the comment concerning the courtesy officer. I was one of the very first tenants here and I am an ------- American. Based on my interactions with the courtesy officer, he is NOT racist, but doing his job. Sometimes things happens and they are based on the fact of someone's race, but other times it's just a matter of making choices. It's easy to play the "blame game" or pull the "race card" because it causes us to not look at ourselves and what we could have maybe done differently. I am sure we are all guilty of parking somewhere we should not even if it's just for a moment, but what happens if someone who IS handicap pulls in and needs that space? And, I am sure you were just there for a moment and I understand. But,I have seen people park in handicap spaces at public places and no matter how long they are parked there,if the police sees them it's nothing they can say, and they get a ticket. So,if that didn't happen, count it a real blessing. For me, I have found that "a positive response gets a positive result." And, "a negative response gets a negative result." Many tenants are moving from different areas both far and near, but Desoto county has done a great job of keeping it desirable to live in. I lived in Memphis most of my life and the current condition the city is in, if all I have to be concerned with is being asked to not park in the handicap space, then I am A-ok with that. And, yes rules are something we ALL have no matter where we go and it's up to us as adults to set a good example for those around us. We can't control anyone else's actions, but we can ALWAYS control our own.
