This was my 1st apartmetn ever. My lease is up at the end of the month. It was an alright stay here. The only problems I can honestly say that I've had were: air-conditioning unit went down for almost 2 days spack dead in the middle of summer (the thermostat read 90 degrees in my apartment) and I have 2 small children. I resulted to call the office, to no avail, management and the emergency maintanence number, to again, no avail. I ended up having to get a hotel room. Once that issue was resolved, management notified that children had been playing around the air-conditioning unit and disconnected something. Oh, I see spiders from time to time. Management calls themselves having the apartments sprayed ever so often. I witnessed the company they hired actually performed the task, and unfortunately, it was not to my satisfaction. I went to Fred's and bought a tank of HotShot and sprayed myself, and left the apartment for a few hours. It worked, better than the times the Good Earth Pest Patrol (or whatever they call themselves) came out and did it. The spiders look like brown recluse and I usually see them near openings such as the vents and the bathtub drains. NO ROACHES!! Thank God! My boyfriend says he saw a mouse before (in our upstairs apartment!), but I never saw it/them--thank God, again! I don't know, maybe he was just seeing things, or something. Pretty quiet community, though. Oh, I had a few incidents with -------- getting drunk and mistaken my door for theirs (which were in 2 completely seperate buildings). No problem with my neighbors at all. Oh, if you have out-of-state tags, Southaven Police will ticket you, faithfully; regardless if you live here or not (i.e. visitors). Happened to me a few months ago. Because I drive my grandmother's car, who's a TN resident, with TN plates. I recieved a letter in the mail (not a citation on my windshield, or whatever) stating that I had to pay $400 and had missed a court date. Long story short, there was no ticket on my windshield as they said, but I still had to pay $250 (due at the court date, prior to leaving, in cash--no credit cards accepted). You are not notified of the cost you'll have to pay prior to going to court, no ballpark figure, nothing--but it is expected to be PAID IN FULL before you leave--if you don't have the money IN CASH-- you will be told to sit on the back bench and later call someone to bring you the money, or your ass will go to jail, no lie! They have a screwd-up law about tags here. Oh, and if you don't get home I'll say before 7 or 8 p.m., expect to damn near walk a marathon to your apartment. Although everyone is supposed to park in front of their residence, it seems no one does it, or someone has too much company--all the time. But, overall, this is a pretty nice place. I absolutely LOVE my master closet! And it's in a very convenient location.
