BEWARE

After losing my job and finding that I must relocate to another state, I attempted to terminate a 6 month lease with Avalon. I gave the staff 60 days notice of my termination as required by the lease. However, while I interpreted the lease to indicate termination could be completed with 60 days notice, or forfeiture of the deposit, or a penalty fine, it was actually ALL of the above. I was asked to pay more to terminate the lease than I would have paid to fulfill the 6 months. Without a job, this did not make financial sense. I have rented from 8 different property managers in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly.
