Wonderful place to live during college

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2008
I lived in Cedar Cove complex for 6 years. The first year I lived with a roommate in one of the 2 bedrooms, and the remaining 5 I lived in a one bedroom (roommate had to drop out).
I loved it.
If we ever had a problem with noise Rosemary was quick to issue a noise complaint. If there was ever a problem with bugs (when I first moved into my one bedroom there were a few bugs I just couldn't get gone) Rosemary had the pest guys out the next day, and there for a while I think they sprayed my place once a month. So they are aware of the potential insect problem and they do everything they can.
Don't get me wrong- Rosemary is scary. I never, never wanted her mad at me. And that is the best thing. As long as you are on her good side she is more than willing to be helpful and nice. If not... you might wanna move. But she most defiantly keeps the peace.
Parking was nice and close to the apartment. Although... a few times I had ants invade my car, not sure why. I just starting parking in different spots and learned to watch for them. Anytime I started seeing ant trails I would use an entire can of Raid around my apartment and my car. Worked pretty well.
It is an older complex, and they do not change the carpet as frequently as maybe they should (but Ive seen more expensive places with worse carpet), and the appliances are older. But if something breaks then put it in writting and leave a note/ list of problems. That is the best way to work with them. I never had problems getting fast fixes when I wrote things down. (Once some water was leaking in the back door- it soaked the carpet. I left a note and they had it industrially cleaned and a fan blowing when I came back that evening. Which wasnt so fun since I couldnt turn the fan off, but it was fixed.)
Some people complain they never get any of their deposit back, but I got some of mine back and I lived in the same place for 5 years. And the things they charged for seemed reasonable. They did not charge me for damages to carpet or things I had told them about.
All in all it was a great little place. I often wished for a larger place, but for what I needed this was a good apartment. It was in a good location to campus and the rest of town (I could walk to main street for concerts and stuff, meaning I got in free a few times!). It was inexpensive and pretty safe. In fact, when I moved I managed to find an apartment that is alot like the one I lived at here! It really helped me feel at home and made the move easier.
