Nice area, but...

Management seems more interested in making money than keeping property up. While heat is provided, the windows are of such poor quality that drafts leave of the partments are cold and. Many of the ground floor sliding doors do not lock--a great invite to burglars. I noticed repeated attempts by Alpha Real Estate staff to keep as much of security deposits as they could--even when conditions did not warrant this action. This has resulted in a good amount of complaints to MTPIRG and U of M staff.
Renters are advised to be VERY thorough in their pre and post rental walk-throughs. Make sure that even the most minor damage is noted on the check-in and check-out sheets. Failure to do so will came back to haunt you later. The Apha Real Estate staff often take advantage of college students that aren't savvy to rentals policy.
Furnishings, if provided, are worn and of the poorest/cheapest quality. If you don't like them-demand they be replaced with decent furnishings. On-site pool is small and not always kept clean-when it's open. Laundry facilities are useless and should be avoided. There is a solitary dumpster that is often overflowing prior to collection by the Refuse removal company.
Residents tend to be college students from the University of Montana. Most tend to be very considerate, but weekends (especially in football season) can get very noisy. Sometimes the Missoula PD has had to show up--more times than would be considered normal.
Neighborhood (bottom of Rattlesnake Creek, across from Greenough Park) is actually very pretty-but that's all that can be said about Alpha East. Avoid this complex at all costs.

I have lived here for 2 years and the experience isn't pleasant. Repairs, often needed, have often taken an inordinante amount of time. Alpha Real Estate has a VERY bad reputation on the U of M campus, with faculty and staff advising students to avoid renting from them. I'm leavign no good terms with Alpha, but would sooner live in a tent that rent from these thieves again.
