My wife and moved from out of state in 2007 and we came down here prior to that to take a look at some apartments and came across Avalon Peaks. This was, by far, the best complex we had seen in our two trips down here! They were the only complex that mentioned this site and promoted it with their high ratings. The ratings are accurate.
The management was very accommodating and helpful. The maintenance crew was very nice and our dog took to them well. Speaking of dogs, the complex is very pet friendly and they have a couple of nice dog runs. The apartment themselves are nice, large and clean. We loved our large kitchen and the large screened porch. The management would have a community garage sale that was fun and a good chance to get rid of stuff. The laundry facility (free!!) was great too. Didn't use the workout room much, but when we did, it is a great feature. The pool is nice and the deck around it makes having get-togethers easy and spacious.
The only things that I think I would like to see changed are just based on preference, so not really management's fault. I would have liked to see more, monthly, community parties or the like.
Overall, this is a great community and they served us well as our first "home" in North Carolina.

I don't know if it's because of summer or if the office read your review but there have been so many community events recently, and a pot-luck tonight! That's funny =) This complex is great, I agree with your review.
