We moved to Southridge when it was first developed. After 4 months our apartment closet was full of mold because the slab poured for the porch next to us was cracked and letting water in. When we told staff, they called us liars and replaced the spot with mold on the wall rather than solving the deeper problem. We broke our lease after 6 months because we couldn't live somewhere where we couldn't even sleep in the bedroom. We had to sleep in the living room because we were constantly sick from the mold in the closet, walls and carpet.

Our clothes (including sentimental things purchased in Norway and Italy) were ruined and they said that it was our problem to take up with insurance, rather than offering to get them cleaned. It was a battle to get anything fixed and now when I drive by I can see that they still haven't put up gutters to keep the water from running in between those apartments. I even spoke with the regional manager who told me that my problem had already been fixed, which I knew it hadn't since I LIVED THERE. We now rent a house with a big yard near the city for $50 less than that apartment.

Again, let me stress that we were the first people to live in the apartment and already had this problem! These were built very quickly and will not last long. Look for reviews of "The Palms" in Charleston to see the future of these apartments. They were also owned by the same company.

I like you was shocked to see the negative review. I just signed my second lease in the community. I did some of my own investigating and was sadden to learn that Apartment Ratings allows people to make any claim they wish with no proof. After I looked in to the situation more I realized that was the case with this person. I checked with the City Of Asheville and there was a complaint filed but no true issue found. That is public record. It is a shame that people are allowed to make any claim they want and make it anonymous. How do we know it isn't some one who just couldn't pay rent or got fired? I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

If you'd like more pictures and video of our apartment I would be glad to sent them to you. As I said we moved somewhere where we pay $50 a month more. Do you think that it's easy or cheap to break a lease and sign a new one? It's definitely not. Especially over the Christmas season. Please do not insult me. I am glad to provide more evidence.
