YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

PRICE: I searched for a few weeks for the cheapest apartments that we could feel safe in, in Asheville. Bear Creek was it. The price was cheaper by a few hindered at the time and compared to other apartments in the area around the same price it was by far the safest. We rented a small 3 bedroom, with a stacked washer and dryer, two bath for 595 a month.

NOISE: You could hear EVERYTHING through the walls. I could hear people walking up the stairs and their conversations. I could hear my neighbor as if they were in the other room. If you have kids, I recommend getting a first floor or town home. I do have kids, and the first month we were there, the bottom floor complained about noise. Kids are Kids and since you could hear everything it was stressful keeping them quiet enough.

PARKING: If you came home after nine, chances are you would have to park by the office and walk to your apartment. We lived with many young kids, that would have parties. Of course their friends would take up all of the paying residents parking spaces and we would end up having to walk home. The apartments staff decided to make a rule about having a parking permit in your car at all times or you were towed. This was an inconvenience for us who would have one guest over but it did help with the parking problem. If you had a guest, they had to park in designated areas, from where I lived, the closest area was at the office so my mother who came over during the day (when there was no parking problem) would have to park at the office and walk all the way up to my apartment. Although she may have needed her exercise, I am sure this is not the way she would recommend getting it.

STAFF: I loved the staff. They were great, although they may have not had the ability to fix all the problems, they sure tried. Even after I moved out, I needed a referral and they were quick to help me. The maintenance men were great as well, they would help you get anything fixed if needed. They even had an overnight staff member patrol the property.

I would recommend Bear Creek Apartments if you are on a tight budget and need a place to feel safe.
