We lived at Haw Creek for two years. Upon our rent increasing 100.00, we chose not to renew our lease. I questioned our increase and was told it was due to a huge water tax increase from the city. Others were told other various reasons. When we left, we were later billed over 400.00 for things wrong with our apartment. The manager said that our carpet was beyond wear and tear because we had a few stains. We have a toddler...stains are gonna happen. Plus we didn't start with new carpet to begin with. She said the tenants before us were charged for their stains too and the money was used to fix it...but if it was, then why did we still have old nasty carpet. So basically, they take your money for every little thing and can't provide a logical explanation as to what it is used for. Maintenance was always friendly even though the management staff was extremely rude and half the time not too bright. Their mistakes landed on your plate and you were responsible for their mistakes. They were Nazis about parking but then didn't care if people let their animals run wild and walk all over people's cars. If you ever have to interact with them involving a request or complaint...put it in writing for your own sake. Their communication log in the front office doesn't do them any good if their staff forgets to use it. Oh and don't use the disposal in the kitchen if you don't want to have to pay to have it fixed. Manage says that it isn't meant for anything other than liquid to go down through it. Overall, people aren't friendly around there because they are so scared of their neighbors. People let their kids run around and do whatever to property that isn't theirs. I would not live in this place again if I had to. Their answering machine says it is the place you will come home to...it is far from home. You will be nickled and dimed...and half the time...it is for nothing of your responsbility.
