okay if you like stray cats and out-dated apartments

Lived here for over a year. it wasnt so bad when i first moved in, they had a nice recycling center and easy garbage disposal situation. they no longer have the recycling center and have one single trash conpacter for the entire complex!! very inconvient! Also if you have a dog and live at the back of the complex, you'll will most likely get hookworms and other diseases from all the stray cats living behind all the complexes. And there are no doggie pick upstations anywhere else but at the front of the complex, which is also inconsiderate!! Also they keep adding height to all the dozen or so speed bumps, if you are living in the back part of the complex, it will take you close to 10 min to get out of the complex! Lots of kids, lots of people hanging around, if you want privacy, this is not your place. I don't mind kids at all but of course there is no playground areas or areas for the kids to go play so they are mostly out in the street running in front of your car or right outside of your door making trouble. The apartments themselves are old and outdated. the bathrooms are tiny and lousy, the toiletseat alone was circa 1950! we bought a new one and a new bathtub rod, because they would not replace them even thought they said they would. the vinyl floor is old and coming up at the corners, no storage space anywhere! There are sinks in the master bedroom, ours is worthless! we dont' use it at all because its constantly leaks and keeps me awake all night, so the less use the less likely it is to leak! The lightswitch in our bedroom doesn't work and we have no way to turn on lights using a switch in there. No ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms and the a/c really doesn't cool the rooms off at all. We had several leaks in the kitchen, no one wanted to fix it until we complained like 5 times. Kitchen is pretty much a hallway and has no dishwasher. if you do come to live here, live up near the entrance-if you don't mind all the people at the front- and get a place with washer-dryer hookups. The public washer-dryers are always all in use or your neighbor just washed baby diapers in them and they leave your clothes gross!!!
the actual stairwell/entrances to the apartement are often dirty and most stairways are crumbling apart. You can hear all your neighbors coming and going and the door locks are so old they are coming off the door. Our apartment still smells like cigarette smoke from the last tenants-driving our allergies crazy, and the closet doors are old as dust. the whole place just feels used and abused, if you don't mind any of that, you will be happy here!

I have lived here for almost a year. When I first moved in everything was great. I never noticed the black mold in my tub when I first moved in. But let me tell you...they still have done nothing about it...or event attempted to fix the tiles where the mold was spotted. but its not hard to miss when you stand back and look at it. The counters in the bathroom and kitchen are painted. Like everything that is painted where there is moisture...the paint peels. I know that they are remodeling the apartments to make them seem nicer...but a one bedroom is now going for like six something and it is not worth it...I can't stand the fact that I can hear my neighbors through the vents in my kitchen. And the fact that my upstairs neighbors are so loud and jump around constantly that they keep blowing my lights in my ceiling fan. I have replaced all of the lights at least four times in the last five months. The kitchen has no cabinet space, no dishwasher and no place for a microwave. If you plan on having one you have to put it on the refridgerator. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms do not work well. My electric bill for the winter was over 130 dollars a month and I live alone and am never home. The children in the neighborhood walk on your patios and stare into your apartment. NICE!! THe management is nice but the maintence seems to take forever when you need it done. I'm still waiting on them to fix my french doors in my den that they promised to fix when I first moved in...almost a year ago. I also had to sign a lead disclosure statement stating that the apartment had been previously painted with lead paint in the past. but i was told not to worry because the paint was so thick by now that it might not cause harm...i was unfamiliar with the lead poisoning paint until I researched it after i moved in...my mistake...

You signed a disclosure that everyone has to sign when living in a complex that was built before 78. If you would have read it you would have seen there were no reports or findings of lead based paint! obviously you liked the apt enough to rent it...why complain of things that were aparent the first time you looked at it? Sounds like you need to call the office, they take care of my probs, are you one of those people that like to complain when you have never asked for any help?
