There are alot of people who gave this place shining reviews. I seriously have to question A.) their sanity, B.) their standards C.) whether or not they are actually the managers posing as residents. I pay 700 a month. In my previous lease I paid 685 a month. they cranked up my rent by 15 bucks a month and for what reason? Market value went up. Well that may be the case but the service went down from its previous position in terrible. I now pay 700/month for a complex with no pool, broken exercise equipment, a broken ugly laundry rack that's been that way since I got here in Jan. 2007, paper thin walls, mold problems galore, heating bills that are ridiculous (with solutions provided by the oh so helpful mgt including "put some plastic on your windows"), genius tenant allocation strategy (putting one non smoker in a building full of smokers and then telling him to use air freshener to fix the smell problem), high crime rates (just call the Asheville PD and ask for a crime report about this address 600 Merrimon Ave.), unfair landlords who play favorites (threatening to evict my friend for playing trumpet while every single one of his neighbors violates lease by having gas/charcoal grills and making more noise than a trumpet ever did) did I mention ugly buildings from 1950 that probably have lead in the paint? I did a lead check and the color came back pink...I think that means lead is present. Oh and where are my washer/dryer hookups as promised on the colonial properties website? You would have to be a liar or a moron to think highly of this dump.

Do you not remember signing a lead addendum when you signed your lease?? How about the criminal backgroud check we all have to go through before we are even approved for the apartment. And if you actually call APD...there have been no major crimes at this address. Just thought I would let you know all the things that you must have forgotten. Plus, if it is that bad, why are you still living there?

Obviously you have not called the APD because if you had and asked to speak to their crime analyst you would find out that the complex has been subject to the following; animal cruelty, business alarm, child abuse, civil disturbance, damage to property, dangerous animal, driving while impaired, fight in progress, fraud, gun discharge, hit and run property, larceny motor vehicle, missing adult, simple assault, vandalism in progress...the list, which I actually obtained from the APD crime analyst, goes on. I'd be glad to show you. Why would you so adamantly defend an apartment complex that is taking at least 700 dollars from you every month so that you can live in what looks like a minimum security prison, or at best, public housing? And I'm not living there. Just thought I would let you know how many erroneous assumptions are embedded in your pointless response to my review. Eat it ------.

THAT is funny, and thanks for the heads-up on the place. Will be soon moving to Asheville to attend UNC-A, and will have 2nd thoughts about this place now.
