Honest opinion

There seem to be a couple of different types of reviews on here-the nasty reviews by people that have must have never lived in an apartment before, the really nice reviews that are probably written by the office staff, and the honest reviews. This is one of the latter. Turtle Creek is old, but is fairly priced for what you get. In my personal experience the staff has been helpful. The only time I've had to call them the service team has come within two days. Then again, my roof never caved in. They do a lot for residents here, and always ask how my apartment is when I pay rent. My neighbor recieved flowers from the office when her husband was in the hospital.

The bad-Like I said, it's old. My stove is one of the original stoves I think, and frankly I'm scared of it. The fridge is also old and I have to hand defrost it. The floors creak when you walk around. You can't choose your neighbors, and they have to rent to families, but some of the kids around here just don't seem to have any supervision at all. I suppose that's not the office's fault, but they should be able to do something.

I think some people need to realize that there are certain things that come with living in an apartment. You are going to hear your neighbors. It sometimes takes a while to fix certain things-especially big things. (Oh-and they were working on the roof of a building right next to mine about a month ago-if that was yours you really ought to apologize) To the person with the complaint about the office singling out your children-maybe your children aren't the little angels you think they are (I witnessed one child here throwing rocks at the main road the other morning while he was waiting for the bus). The office probably got complaints about them-it's pretty unlikely they singled your child out for no reason.

The biggest problem with websites like this is that one or two people who write in when they are mad can really give other people the wrong impression, so then the office gets on and goes too far in the "everything is made of solid gold" direction. It's an old apartment for a decent amount of money with some nice stuff thrown in (good pool-free world gym membership.

For the money (especially in south Asheville) it's a good deal. Every other apartment around here is at least $100 more for a smaller apartment. There are some that are newer, but I don't think it's worth the difference in money. I hope this helps.
