Okay, I have lived here two years and will outline the bad first:
1. Parking is horrible. For example, my building (700) only has one parking lot for all the residents. Other buildings have parking in the front and back. I have often had to park in another building's front lot then walk from their building to mine. I have 1 car folks, seems reasonable that parking should be included with the rent.
2. Poor workmanship in the apartments. When I first moved in, the bar was slanting towards the floor and had to be repaired. The bathroom didn't make any sense. They used the cheapest fixtures they could and placed them in ridiculous places. Such as two towel bars over the toliet and none near the sink. I had to remove the towel bar and reinstall it. (I'm sure they will claim I damaged the place upon moving out.) The toliet paper holder is too wide to actually support a roll of tissue. They spread the spring mounted plastic part as far as it could. Needles to say, the moment you place tissue on it, it falls out. I've asked them to fix this 3 times during my two years here. It never got fixed. The water heater in my washing closet sticks out into the floor. I've injured myself on it several times.
The paint marks badly and rubs off with any contact (including your clothes).
Make sure you see your unit if at all possible. Poorly placed fixtures and water heaters can be a hazard and annoyance for you and yours.
3. Management changes seem to occur bi-annually. This is problematic if you, like me rely on their information to make decisions about staying. I was planning to move. I called the manager and asked questions about rent terms available, etc. Fast forward and there is a sudden and unannounced management change. One week later, I get a letter from the new manager with month to month terms some $115.00 higher than the former managers quote. When I attempted to discuss this, the answer I received made me feel like some robot namd "resident #1234abc" and not at all welcome.
4. Noise from above, from below, from dogs. From motorcycles, from the pool, from the PA system, from the kids. If you love noise, you've found the right place.
5. Management makes stupid rules. NO laundry from 10pm to 7am. Hope you're not at work from the hours of 7am to 9pm. You'll find it a little difficult to wash a load.
