I have lived there for more than a year now and will confirm everything said by previous reviewers is true. Management couldn't care less about these properties, all of them, and they actually own a lot of different places. This year, they painted the outside of the building IN NOVEMBER 2008, but because this is Boone, they couldn't finish because of the weather or maybe the because the poor illiterate immigrants they hired couldn't work their exploited fingers fast enough. It is currently March and the outside is still not fully painted. The outside is paneling and (strangely enough) they painted one whole panel at a time all the way down the 100 or 150 yards of the building before starting another one, so the building is striped. The person with ten year old carpet is lucky; mine is at least 20 years old (you can tell by the color and the fact that it is SO matted down a vacuum won't begin to clean it). My appliances are also old: my fridge has an icebox. When I moved in, I was promised that many of the things that bothered me would be fixed. Well, I should have gotten it in writing. When maintenance came to fix things, they really just bungled them up more. The linoleum in the kitchen was (and still is) peeling. They cut off the rolled up part and left the bare subfloor and never came back. Last March, some small things were stolen from my apartment, namely cups and alcohol. I figured out that maintenance or any number of the people that have keys to that apartment came back, knowing that most people, me included, would be on Spring Break. I changed the locks without the management's consent and haven't really had a problem since.
