I lived in Summerlyn for a year from 2006-2007 (before they built the mall) and it was very pleasant. I did not have any problems while I lived here. The staff was nice and seemed helpful. You have an assigned parking spot near your building, so parking is never a problem, especially since there is a gate that doesn't let people who don't live there into the complex. There are tennic courts and a pool, which you can sit by all year unlike most of the places around here (it's sometimes nice in March in NC and you want to sit by the pool, which you can here). I didn't have a problem with noise, and my neighbors were very friendly. Also, now the proximity to the new mall is wonderful.

The rent here is higher than other place in the area (it was 740 for a 1 bedroom when I lived here, but I imagine it has gone up because of the mall) but it was a very nice place to live. I was a student at Elon and the drive to capus was not bad at all. Overall, I hightly recommend living here.
