The apartment size was astounding for the price. Huge master bedroom and closet, decent second. Apartment was well worn but livable. Kitchen appliances were new in my apt, but bathroom tub was cracking. Floors were wavy, I was sea sick for the first couple of weeks, but got used to it, though all of my furniture was propped. Poor insulation, especially for sound. Heating and cooling were reasonable though (second floor apt) but windows weren't efficient.

Warm weather brings out the parties and noise-particularly summer months, even weeknights. Some shady characters, made me really nervous at first (single female), but didn't have any probs once boyfriend moved in. I still always lock my door unless I'm expecting someone. There are quite a few solicitors certain times of the year.

Management and mantainance are decent. I had a lot of packages delivered to the office and never any problems with it. Location is great to UNC, bus stops right out front. Within walking distance of downtown Carrboro, and a little stretch to Chapel Hill.

There's a lot of rennovating going on right now, particularly re-roofing and re-paving, so they're willing to upkeep the place to make it better.

Overall, I'd recommend it to college students that need some place cheap, alone or with a roommate, though I wouldn't recommend a woman alone. There are a lot of lower income families in the community because of the good size apartments and cheap price.
