okay thought having 24 hour security and living in the secluded 3 bedrooms might shelter me from the horror stories I had heard about Abbey Court but they did not!!!! My apartment was broken into in BROAD DAYLIGHT, while I was gone to the grocery store for every bit of 2 hours no more!! And if there were any witnesses they weren't talking. Then one of my best friends was beaten to within inches of his life and robbed right outside of our building during a trip to his car and back. Management did nothing to help me get out of my lease even though the purpetrators of the crime were sending threats on our lives though "the grapevine" apparently because we called the police and had the area under watch or as they had communicated "had the block hot". There were people hanging around outside or on the stairs of my building CONSTANTLY. I heard gunshots one night at two in the morning and saw a bloody guy walking down the sidewalk. Witnessed a hit and run from my balcony one night. Police were always being called down there for some reason or another. The bus stop is unsafe at night and shady at best during the daytime with all the prostitutes, bums, and drug dealers. I was panhandled to and "hollad at" at least once a day out there on my way to school. On top of all this, the apartments were shoddily built. The cabinet doors wouldn't stay shut, the lock on my sliding glass door didn't work and was never fixed even though i reported it on several occasions, the garbage disposal broke and/or backed up at least once a week and maintainance would only fix it after another week and only then temporarily. There were bugs, bugs, and more bugs and we were NOT dirty. Managements response to this was to give us some bombs to set off in our apartment. Wouldn't even reccomend Abbey Court to my worst enemy. Pay more money for somewhere safer. You'll regret it if you don't. I thought I would be safe and I wasn't...not even living with two guys and another girl...it will happen to you.
