The title says it all folks. Since --- (the previous manager) left in January, the management has been shared with Berkshire Manor West (across the highway). The office went from being open Monday to Friday to being open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but that claim is dubious at best. The office is often closed most of the day even on these 3 days. The "will return" sign might say 2 pm, but the office is still closed at 3 or 4. Picking up packages is extremely inconvenient. The staff rotates through our office and they have not made any effort to learn my name. They do provide an adequate level of service if you ask, but --- was dedicated to making Berkshire Manor a great community, and the Berkshire Manor West staff do not seem to have this attitude at all!
At the same time that the level of service has gone down, the total cost of renting has gone up. Rent has increased, and they are also billing for water that was previously included in the rent, and new renters have to pay an additional fee for the "free" cable and internet. Undoubtedly it won't be long before renewals also have to pay this fee.
The bottom line is that while this is a quiet and safe community, the rent is growing at a rate much faster than my wages, and the quality of service from management has gone way down, and there are no new amenities. In short, they have done nothing to justify the higher cost, and as a result the community has gone from being outstanding to just average.
I wouldn't end this review without mentioning -------, the maintenance tech. He fixes everything and has a great attitude. Unfortunately, just like with the management, there's no guarantee that great maintenance people will still be around a year from now.
