I'm a Senior at UNC-Chapel Hill and I've lived in Chapel Hill/Carrboro for four years now. I've lived in many apartment complexes, but Berkshire Manor and Berkshire Manor West are by far the best I've lived in.

I'll give you some reasons why after I tell you how to SAVE $300:

$100: Since I'm a resident, I know some cool stuff: When you come to check the place out, if you decide to go with Berkshire Manor or Berkshire Manor West, tell them you saw the $100 off thing on their website www.berkshiremanorwest.com and you'll get $100 off your first month's rent.

-$100: Go to rent.com and sign up for a free account and you'll get $100 free for "finding" Berkshire Manor or BM West on the rent.com website! Some other sites do this too--and might actually give you more than $100, so just look around.

-$100: Residents get money for referring friends. I'll give you $100 of my referral money if you tell them my name when you make your first visit and say I referred you! Just contact me at the email for this review and we can discuss and I'll let you know what my name is :)

I DON'T work for this place, and I really do like this place; come and visit it and see for yourself! Seriously, even if you don't tell them my name, it's worth living here. It really is a good place.


So here's the in-detail review:

-On two bus lines, the CW and CM (buses are FREE). It takes only about 10 minutes for the CM to get to campus.

-The highest ratings in Carrboro/Chapel Hill on apartmentratings.com http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/SearchResults'action=post&query=27510&x=23&y=8

-ETHERNET! in the living room, and all bedrooms, INCLUDED in the rent!

-Frequent specials for UNC Students/Employees, as well as other specials.

-Rent is about the cheapest I've found in the area--you don't want to go much lower though, because then you'll be sacrificing quality.

-RIGHT next to the Carrboro Plaza shopping center, with a Food Lion, a Chinese and Italian place, small video store, a vet, the local ABC Store, a gas station, tailor, laundromat, and a few other stores.

-No assigned parking spots and no isolated parking for guests. Just park where you freakin' want!

-Only 1.8 miles from downtown Carrboro, where you can find Weaver Street Market (the social hub of Carrboro, an eclectic, liberal-minded town) many restaurants and bars, and cool shops.

-Utilities are cheap here, unlike a lot of places I've lived in here. They use Duke Power, which uses a cheaper rate. Piedmont Energy was terrible at my other places.

-The office staff is super nice and helpful (just give them a call and find out!) They often have free cookouts and pizza parties where they have raffles for money off your monthly rent (everybody gets at least some money off!)

There are a ton of other reasons I could list, but suffice it to say I've lived here for 4 years. I've lived in many places, and visited my friends in most of the other places there are around here. This is the best bang for your buck that I've found.
