Great Apartments, Terrible Management

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I have lived in Berkshire Manor for nearly 3 years. The apartments are well maintained and the location is great.
My major complaint is the management. In the past, we had a great office manager who was always on site and knew everyone's names. In the fall she was laid off, and we were forced to share staff with Berkshire Manor West (across the street). Now, the office is NEVER open (its supposed to be open daily), and good luck getting anyone's attention if you call the main office. When I call, I frequently get the answering machine and my calls are not returned, and emails are completely ignored. Its impossible to pick up packages--even when you get someone in the office, usually the package is across the street, and you have to go over and get it. Or, if you think its there, it will be in the regular office.
I have also been dismayed by the increases in rent. When we first moved in, I think a two bedroom was $695. Now, its $775. For new move ins it is considerably less ($709 for a comparable apartment), but don't worry, if you renew your lease it will go up quite a bit. When we first moved in cable and internet were free--now there's a $60 'entertainment package.' Water also used to be included in the rent, now its an additional bill. At the rate they're going we won't be able to AFFORD to live here next year.
I love living there and would gladly consider renewing if the problems got better! Keeping my fingers crossed...
