Hello, I am Heather Ficquette, the property manager of Berkshire Manor West. I have been reading some of the reviews about our community and comments about the reviews on this site. In all honesty, PLEASE TAKE EVERYTHING YOU READ WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. Apartment ratings has gotten way out of hand. With different apartment communities posting negative things on their competition's page or posting great things about their own communities on their own pages. It is hard to be sure if any of the reviews on anyone's page is 100% accurate.
If you notice on our site, there is a good comment placed on it, and someone commented on there that it was management. I can assure you that it was not. I actually personally know the tenant that wrote the review. When people make negative comments about the good comments, it makes prospects doubt all of the good comments. Some of the other comments are from actual tenants that did move out. However even though no names are given, I know specifically who the comments are from. Some people that were not able to break their lease without penalty considered us to be "ripping them" off. When in all actuality, they were in a contract. We are required to hold tenants to contracts, like any apartment community or any business. As we all know, when we don't get what we want, we like to take it out or "speak out". Whereas, if we received good service, we are not as likely to take the time to speak out about it. Also, some expected all brand new appliances in the kitchen, etc. It is a fact that we've NEVER promised all new appliances with the renovations. Some appliances are new, and some are in good condition, which is told during EVERY apartment tour. However, if anything needs to be repaired in the apartment, we service it. And we have a FANTASTIC maintenance team! If a service request is never called in, how are we supposed to know how to fix it' I would advise everyone to VISIT the community, get a feel for it, and notice all of the wonderful renovations that we have done inside and out. We are definitely the best value in town with the cable and internet included.
My advice to everyone who is searching for an apartment, don't believe everything you read. Believe your intuition with your contact with the community either via phone, email, or a visit. And remember--the service you get as a prospective tenant at any community will be the same as you would get as a tenant. Our number one priority is our residents.
