I had a good experience

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I am a student at UNC and I lived in Carolina Apartments for six months in 2008. I moved because they only have two bedrooms. If they had 1 bedrooms, I would have stayed. I occasionally saw a roach, but what do you expect in an apartment' There were less roaches there than in the other 2 apartments I've lived in Carrboro. Yes you do see people outside, and yes they happen to be Hispanic and Asian immigrants. I think the reviews of alcohol everywhere are exaggerated. I never felt in danger or that these people were "sketchy"- they were primarily families with children, who often played outside. The other reviewer who said he'd rather live in a housing project in NY has obviously never been in a housing project. I never heard any violence, fights, gun shots, although I did hear a lot of kids playing and yelling, which was annoying sometimes. I think that the apartments are a great deal, very spacious, and conveniently located on the J bus line which goes right into campus. I thought management and maintenance were professional and on par with the other 2 apartments I've lived in. I had friends over, and they were all impressed with how roomy the apartment was, and how nice the kitchen and cabinets were compared to other Carrboro apartments. I had a brand new oven! The down side is that there is limited parking. So if you are looking for a reasonably priced place, I'd recommend Carolina Apts.
