I have been a resident at Highland Hills now for about 6 years now. I have to say, I have been here through some of it's best times and some of it's worst times. It's true they used to have management that stunk, but the great thing is that their corporate office is able to identify these problems and fix them fairly quickly. Right now I live in a nice 3 bedroom apartment and wind up paying less rent than any of my friends living in other apartment complexes. The staff at this point is absolutely top notch. And the maintenance crew is phenomenal. This apartment is close enough to franklin street and campus that you feel like you're in Chapel Hill, but far enough away that you don't have to deal with all the game day traffic. The residents here are all very nice and I haven't really had neighbors that I haven't gotten along with. All in all I would say that you should at least check this place out. They have great amenities (pool, tanning bed, grills, fitness center, movies) and the scenery is even better.
