Overall, a nice place for the money

Living in Chapel Hill/Carrboro isn't cheap, so you'll just have to get used to the prices. For the money, Poplar Place is a nice, convenient, fairly quiet complex.
I lived there for two years (ending last summer) with a roommate and we were pleased overall.
Minor complaints: a shelf in our refrigerator broke about three months in and it was never fixed. After a couple times of asking, we just learned to live with it. Other maintenance requests were handled more expeditiously, but only if it was an emergency (when our upstairs neighbor's apt. leaked and shorted out our ac/heating unit).
As a law student, living in Carrboro was tough because I had to take two buses just to get to school everyday (but this is more of a complaint against UNC than Poplar Place - the new bus lines to Jones Ferry definitely help).
I can't give Poplar Place a glowing review, but I can definitely recommend it. Much better than my previous apt. (Laurel Ridge) for only slightly more money.
