I found Poplar Place to be a good apartment complex. The neighborhood is mostly 30 yrs or over, friendly and quiet. The complex has lots of parking space directly in front of the apartments. It has also its own bus stop (CM, CW, C Exp, and soon J Exp). It takes about 10-15 mins to go to downtown Chapel Hill/Carrboro. Willow Creek Shopping Center is within walking distance and the Highway is only about 250 yds away.
The apt itself was in good condition and nicely furnished. We had a washer, dryer, dishwasher, a/c, etc. inside. Also, the maintenance staff was helpful and responsive. As for the price, I think it may not be the cheapest, but is also not overpriced - I think the price is pretty good for what you get. All in all, I was quite satisfied and can recommend it.
