We will miss it!

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
My husband and I just bought a house, and moved out of Archstone Poplar Place this summer. If we could have bought there, we would have. Over the 2 years we lived there, we had very few problems, and each maintenance issue was handled promptly - a couple times they came over within the hour, and the maintenance guys were always friendly. They did what they had to do without too much fuss and they did it right the first time. The girls in the office always said hello and called us by name, and they even remembered my mother in law who had helped us move in. The pool and cook out area were always clean, even though it did get crowded during the summer. When we moved in, we thought that the price was a little high, but we would rather be in Carrboro and away from the noise and traffic in Chapel Hill. They raised our rent $10 for the second year, but we figured that was normal and didn't think much about it. The apartments aren't brand new, but are in good shape, and it was clean and functional when we moved in. They cleaned our carpet for us for free both years. We had some minor damages such as scuff marks on the walls and worn carpet, but we were not charged for anything. The town of Chapel Hill leveled the trees across the street from the complex, that was a shame. Some other tenants had big dogs, and the office tried to keep on top of people who did not pick up after their pets. This was my second apartment complex and my husband's third, and we both thought it was professionally staffed and well cared for. Much better than the dives in Ohio!
